Where to begin? These waterfalls crap out after a few months of use. I’ve incorporated them into my dendrobates frog tank for the past 1.5 years and I’ve ran through 3. I have never run them without water, as they humidify the tank to a state of flooded sogginess I’d I use long/often. All I want is a small waterfall SAFE for small amphibians. I am fairly certain the huge holes and the inability to completely close the back compartment of this waterfall caused my make frog to drown. The market sucks for this need. This and the stone/pebble waterfall are the “smallest” ones offered and they are huge. Clunky, annoying to refill, motor will run and struggle even if no debris is blocking and is full of water. Please safe your money. I’ve wasted around $180 on crappy waterfalls to date.

So far it has been really decent. For the money, it does what it is supposed to do. It is still new to my setup so I am sure I'll run into issues such as stuck debris and hiding dead crickets, but I love the water effect. I think running water is best over stagnant water. The lights are really neat and look nice and bright on their own. I have those set to come on at night on the timer. I think for anyone trying to add something to make their habitat extra this is the way to go. The wires are a bit bulky. Each led has its own socket connected to a box leading to the power cord. It's flat to where you could secure it to the inside but no adhesive to do it with. Using something to cover them up is recommended. The power cord for the pump is big as well so you'll need a lid or cover that allows for cords to go through somehow, however after scaping and placing everything you don't really notice them and can look really stunning. I am glad a chose this over the Zilla rainfall pond because after much YouTube it looked way too big for my 12x12 terrarium for my tree frog. The small version of this fits Nicly in the ZooMed naturalist terrarium 12x12.

Russian Tortoise 101 plus review of ReptiRapids Skull (Small)Pretty well sized in my wide 40gal terrarium (Exo Terra). The small is 11.5" tall, this habitat is 12". Haven't seen much for indoor Russian Tortoise set ups, but this little guy loves it. I've seen/read/heard bad things about this fountain, which made me skeptical. Depending on what you're looking for as far as size, type of reptile, size of tank, etc... this might not work for you. I noticed the loud humming sound many people have brought up, at first. I mean within seconds. There wasn't enough water in the fountain. I was able to let my tortoise bask in the natural sunshine while I cleared an area and was able to test it out. Really loud when there's just enough water falling. I added more water than I thought it would be able to effectively move, and it wasn't enough. I used spring water. Poured in the base to fill enough for the pump to absorb, BUT DO NOT FORGET TO ALSO FILL THE VERY TOP OF THE FOUNTAIN. No matter how much water you're throwing at it, this goes for many pumps I've used for aquariums/terrainiums. I used roughly a full 16.9oz /.5 liter in total of bottled spring water from the same 48 pack that I already had introduced to his daily soak water exchange. Do not use purified tap water unless you know the source or have something similar to a ReptiSafe addition to tap water as the chlorine can be extremely harmful to your animal. Also triple check that you can use that with your species. I avoided the worry by sticking with spring water. Never let it be too hot or too cold. This can actually affect the health immediately. Keep your case of water in room warm temp.Pros: Very quiet. There are two flowing locations at the top of the filter. Too little water, only one will actually flow through. Very loud. There isn't enough water in the fountain. Obviously too much will overflow and cause a mess.*CAUTION* The inside of the waterfall has the power wire for the pump tucked inside of it. Highly recommend not leaving this that way. I untied and secured the wires behind my styrofoam backdrop and made sure the pump was on the bottom of the fountain.Second: Keep in mind, the back does slide open easily. If you have moss, bark, substrate of any kind, or any loose food (insects or green leaf) that may be able to enter the reservoir, you'll have an issue with it working.Do not plug in the power until water is added. This goes for both LED lights and the pump.Add water towards the bottom portion first. About 1/4 a water bottle. If you have a removable top to your terrarium, unlock the top and remove for easiest access. This is key. Pour water into the very top. Let it flow to the bottom but keep an eye on the water level. Plug in the pump. If nothing flows after 10 seconds, add a little water to the TOP, not the bottom. The pump will purge the air out of the tube and water should begin to flow. Loud noise, not enough water, probably only flowing out of one of the top channels. Enough water, low noise, two channels of water.Cheers from Minnesota! SKOL VIKES!
