When converting an old Gary Fisher mountain bike into a gravel grinder, I needed to get rid of the old, heavy cable stop that was part of the headset assembly. After investigating a number of options, this turned out to be the best, cost-effective solution. Be aware that older forks without the recessed brake screw hole in the fork crown will not work with the screws provided. A trip to the hardware store for a longer M6 screw, nut, and lock washer solved that issue.

A fine piece but over priced. Had to buy it at that price, because their becoming hard to find.

The nuts and bolts that come with this hanger will only fit a fork that has been drilled for recessed nuts (like modern brake calipers). If you have a fork that has the smaller hole for an externally nutted reflector, you may need to buy extra hardware to mount this.I've got the hanger mounted now and it works fine. The adjustable cable stop is very nice and it looks very attractive. I would rate 5 stars if the product came with all of the necessary hardware.I've found the "cleanest" way to mount these is to get a nut and lockwasher (or a locknut) and thread the nut onto the bolt inside of the fork. You may need some needle nose pliers to hold the nut as you tighten it with your allen wrench. I've done this on two bikes now without problems.
