This seems like a pretty decent belt, not sure I would trust it though for really heavy lifts. It has a two step closing mechanism. First you wrap the main portion around yourself and if velcros together. Then you run the web belt through the buckle and tighten that. Problem is it is nearly impossible to get the main part tight enough, but the web belt portion of it seems to only lock the main section in place, not make it tighter. So, if you need a little support from a moderately tight and very comfortable belt, this may do the trick. If you need solid tight support, like for a hard deadlift or a heavy squat...just use the tried-and-true thick leather belt with normal metal buckles.

I got this for lifting and it arrived the first day of a 3 day snow storm. It saved my back and I was still able to move after shoveling my driveway 3 days in a row. Going to the gym I felt much more confident in my squats. Recovering from multiple herniated disc's I'm being careful. I like the contoured shape, it doesn't bite into my hips like a straight belt. I also like the wider belly portion which is what you really brace against when lifting. For me this works much better than a tapered belt that is wider in the back and more slender the front. It's only been a week, but so far so good!

Much more comfortable than leather. I like this belt a lot. It's kind of difficult to get it really tight. Overall though I'm very happy with jmy purchase.

I like everything about this belt. Only issue is not being able to really tighten the belt a little extra once the Velcro grabs.

Schiek sells nothing but the best quality! I have bought from them since 1993.I have gloves,straps and belts from that brand that I have had for over twenty years.Used them daily.Usually lifting heavy.I am adding this belt because I am 70 years old and want to continue lifting heavy for years to come.I never buy any other brand because none can compare to Schiek.
