I want bike shorts with the least amount of seams possible. Too much chafing is caused when there are too many stitches and seams. So these might be fine for the novice or occasional rider, these are not for long distance riders.

These shorts are junk. The fabric is NOT the quality that pearl izumi has had in the past. And the pad is not sewn in correctly, so it makes the fit very uncomfortable. Looks like they are now being made in Vietnam, and the quality is terrible.

My previous pair of these was awesome— this new version feels much cheaper- especially the chamois.

I finally bought new shorts after the chamois was wearing out (padding has become compressed). The new pair spandex fabric is MUCH thinner/lighter than my old pair, but the high waist styling is still there, but I feel a bit more "free"- it's not transparent or see through, and the back does not slide down when crouched over the bike, but I can definitely tell the chamois is new (it's more bulky) but I am sure my older backside will appreciate it compared to when I last bought bike shorts. The leg grippers are not too grippy, and I think these will do nicely. Indoor spinner mostly.Edit post first indoor spin- the waist on these shorts compared to my old Pearls is much lower. I’m still ok with it only because I have long shirts. Not sure if it’s a new cut or they just got cheap. The chamois feels good and the leg grippers are still not too tight or loose.

I wore these yesterday for a 20 mile ride on a very hot day. Great comfort level. Padding was very comfy and great ride. These were very quality and washed well also! Thank you Pearl Izumi!
