You get 2 kinds of brushes in this set:1.) a cream-coloured brush: This is made of sisal (aka tampico) fibre, a plant fibre used for making rope, twine and brush bristles. In terms of roughness, it is quite rough. It remonds me of standard nail brushes. This is said to be soft enough to be good for fruit and veg and for less stubborn-dirt for dishwashing purposes.2.) A brown-coloured brush: This is made of sisal and coconut, and is rougher and harder than the first brush. It is said to be useful for more stubborn dirt in dishwashing, such as on pots and pans.Another use for these brushes is to clean carpets and upholstery from things like hair and lint. The handles are well-made, smooth bamboo and are comfortable to hold.In use unfortunately the bristles did shed quite a bit which isn't great... It's a shame because these otherwise seem like nice quality brushes, and I like that there is zero plastic here if you're trying to reduce your plastic use.

I was drawn to these as I thought they looked cute. In fact, they remind me of the old-fashioned shaving brushes, but looks aside, I like how these offer an eco-friendly way of cleaning dishes and pans without the plastic or metal disposable scourers. You get 3 brushes in the set: 2 with stiff bristles and one with softer bristles. The handles are fashioned from smooth bamboo, which is rounded and comfortable to hold. The bristles in the softer brush are sizal and can be used for anything really - from cutlery to cleaning fruit or veg etc. The other 2 brushes have a mixture of bristles - sizal and coconut and these are a lot stiffer - great for scrubbing pans etc. Of course, you can clean other surfaces with these, but I'm keeping mine specifically for cookware and one for fresh fruit and veg.You can clean the brushes with mild detergent and let them air drt. They do take quite a while to dry and I wish there was a hook or cord or something on them to hang them for drying. The bristles did moult a little the first couple of uses, but that seems to have stopped now, so I'm hoping they will last for some time.I do like them.
