Good sturdy design but the glands doesn't cover the rj45 connector! Port 2,3&4 doesn't support a camera which requires more than 30 watts and keeps reconnecting attached cameras! May be i need to use the DC port to use port 1

This is a great product, definitely designed to withstand use in an outdoor environment.I am using this with UniFi gear and it is just plug and play. Powered using 802.3BT from a US8 switch lite - fired up right away. The LED’s on the top confirm BT (Red) or AT/AF (Green) which is handy.Plugged in my G5 bullet camera and AC Mesh outdoor AP and everything works perfectly.Now for the quirks. I used this with pre-terminated Ethernet cables with jackets and the connectors that came with the switch were barely long enough to fit over the jacket. Not sure if it was the brand of cable (CSL) but it was a bit of a fight getting the gland to fit tightly, not helped by using flat Ethernet cables I will admit.Port one outputs more POE voltage than ports 2,3 and 4 so if you have a device that draws a lot of power, worth making sure it connects to port one.Also, if you’re not using the DC power supply, you need to unscrew the small green section that sticks out before you can fit the blank end to keep the unit water tight. Doesn’t mention this anywhere in the instructions!Finally, this was only supplied with three blanks so worth bearing in mind if you don’t intend on using every port. I had just enough to cover the DC power outlet and ports 3 & 4.All in all, despite the quirks, a decent product. Very easy to use and get set up and the build quality is solid. Much cheaper than the UniFi solution that needs its own cabinet to keep out the rain.

I plan to install an Ethernet cable that may be over 300ft after routing inside the buildings. I bought this product to extend the cable and have tested it. It works perfectly, smartly and safely. I am using this to extend my business network between two buildings and not for just cameras. The throughput checked out at a full 1gbp/s and the network worked properly. I connected both POE and non-POE devices. The unit detected the POE status and applied power when needed and remained off for non-POE devices. During power up the POE output light will flash but does not apply POE output until it detects a POE device is connected protecting non-POE devices. It is weatherproof and well designed. I recommend this for anyone who needs to extend an Ethernet connection.
