This bagel slicer doesn’t slice fresh soft bagel, it smashes it. I can not recommend any bagel to buy this. Good looking but doesn’t do the job at all. Very disappointed, but Amazon would graciously take the return.

I've had this for a year now & I love it. Slices the bagel perfectly & no worries about cutting yourself. I did take off 1 star because I can't understand how someone can make such a wonderful bagel slicer & not somehow have it to where you can pick it up by the handle without having the bottom fall off. Everytime I take this out of my pantry to the counter to use, I have to remember to pick it up from the bottom. How could this possibly be overlooked? Maybe small magnets, maybe 2 small latches - something. Until I can figure out something better I use a reusuable cable tie so I don't forget & actual grab it & have the bottom fall off. I just used mine this AM & decided to check to see if they "fixed" this problem but no, no improvements.

C'est gros et le tranchant manque de protection si le tranchoir demeure sur le comptoir avec des enfants.
