The clamp does not hold very well. My table top is melamine so it's smooth and the clamp just uses a soft foam liner for grip, which doesn't work well on melamine. I added a rubber strip and it hold well now.The clips are just held in to the arms by friction so they do fall out after moving them around a bit.The arms are nice and stay where you put them.

I bought a lot of electronics/robotics stuff at once & took a chance on some budget options, and this one worked out great. For the price I got exactly what I was expecting. "you get what you pay for", but in this case what you think you're paying for is exactly what you get (it clamps, it holds firmly, its arms are flexible - nothing broke after bending and positioning the arms around, the clamps have rubber on the metal gripper to protect whatever you're gripping... For me, living in an apt with just a 2nd bedroom as my office, garage, and music studio, I value compact things that do what I need them to do. This does that.

Only thing I don’t like is that I clip it directly in front on me and would like the magnifying glass glass and light to be longer so I could screw them in front and not on top. And you just can’t take beads from one and add to another arm since the beads for the mag and light are different sizes then the clamp arms. It still works as advertised but could be better.

Great product ,includes a small rents to assemble it. The flashlight is awesome, I'm probably not going to use it on this stand but I will use it. To stand the clamps to your table is solid as a rock made of heavy aluminum doesn't move it's awesome well worth the money this clamp.
