The volume control on my 2003 Grohe shower control was badly flaky - sometimes the handle would skip and jump and sometimes spin freely when opened. I traced the problem to torn-out teeth in this plastic part. This repair kit included the necessary part as well as all of the possibly-worn parts that needed to be removed to get to this one.By the time I got this in hand, I was already pretty good at taking it apart and putting it back together, so it only took about 30 minutes to replace. Now it works like new.

The grohe instructions are not great. Product is excellent but they should be more specific about assembly and installation.

There’s little to say except this product is Grohe O.E.M., and it worked perfectly. A Grohe customer service representative helped me diagnose my valve issue and recommended the correct parts to fix it. They answered the phone quickly, twice, and were very professional. My valve was at least 25 years old, and they still manufacture the parts. The original valve parts lasted 25 years! That’s why you pay premium prices for Grohe to begin with.

The brass plate and screws are no longer brass! The threads are still brass (I guess that will be going soon) and I think the plate is made of galvanized steel. Doesn't make sense for something that will continuously be used in a humid environment. Shame on Grohe and their parent company Iixil, a Japanese conglomerate that also owns American Standard.

Grohe has been on my annual budget since I installed a GroMix temperature controlled shower valve, 20 years ago. The original had brass screws, the new one has Stainless Steel, I think.The Nylon that holds the threaded inserts that the screws go into had cracked on the one I had, I jerry rigged it to keep it working for another year, glad I found this part while purchasing new H/C valve assemblies!
