Simple to fit to door.Once you have drilled the hole in the door , make sure you blow out any debris, to ensure nothing goes into the viewer to block the view.A cover plate on the inside can be swung open easily to view anyone on the outside.A drill bit is included in a separate plastic container and is very sharp, but I can only drill about 12mm deep.I tried it with the spring on a piece of UPVC but it did not work.I also tried it on a solid piece of wood as some doors are still made of wood, but did not work.I used to be a carpenter, so I can't see that I am doing anything wrong in using this , so will use my other drill bit to do the job in future.The cutter part can be removed if needed to fit other bits onto the Arbor, and the drill bit could be changed as well with the Allen key supplied.Depending on thickness of the door you could drill from both sides, with the drill supplied to prevent breakout, something I would do anyway.As you can only drill to 12mm I doubt you could use the bit anyway
