Dopo quasi un mese ho dovuto arrendermi. Non sono riuscito a configurarlo sul mio modem e sul mio Mac e ho dovuto effettuare il reso (il secondo dopo averlo reso in precedenza perché non funzionante)

Da gibt es bei dem teil kein auto connect und man muss manuell auf verbinden klicken damit man scannen kann.--> ist also wenn man es für ein büro einrichtet leider nicht zu 100% automatisierbarweiteres problem was nach dem ersten wochenende auftrat, das ding stürzt nach ca. 1 woche an der steckdose ab. Workaround ist das unvermeidliche stecker ziehen und wieder reinstecken.Mit den workarounds funktioniert es, mehr als 2 sterne gibts da aber nicht

Der Printserver funktioniert nicht mit meinem Canon MG5150 Printer. Wird zwar richtig erkannt, druckt aber nicht.L.t. Edimax, vermutlich inkompatibel.

I bought this as I wanted to put my Brother DCP 7010 Multi-function printer (scanner / copier) into a cupboard out of the way, as well as allowing all three computers at home to access it. It is a very tidy, unobtrusive piece of kit and plugged into the wireless modem / router easily. The physical set up was an absolute doddle. More than I can say about the software side of things. The manual and CD which come with it are out of date and don't give enough information. After four hours of following the official instructions, there was no prospect of anything being printed that day!Eventually I went onto the Edimax support page which I have to say is outstanding. I was able to download an updated version of the installation software (Windows 7 compatible) and an up to date manual. The link is here: [...]%3Fpl1_id%3D7%26mwsp%3D1&pl1_id=7&pd_id=51&button=GoEven then, it is no plain sailing and you have to have your wits about you when allocating IP addresses etc.Eventually I did manage to get it working and now that I undertstand it, it is pretty straightforward. The scanning function also works well, but beware, you can't print while you are connected to the scanning facility and neither can anyone else on the network. So make sure you disconnect when finished. As I said, great piece of kit, but not for the faint-hearted.

Das Gerät bewerte ich erst jetzt ca. 9 Monate nach dem Kauf, denn erst jetzt kann ich es nutzen.Warum nicht vorher?Der Edimax PS-1206MF ist in Verbindung mit meinem Drucker leider nicht Windows XP kompatibel. Es muss mindestens Vista sein. Da aber bisher nur mein Hauptrechner mit Vista unterwegs war konnte ich das Gerät nicht nutzen. Dies konnte ich aber auch erst nach dem Kuaf des Gerätes erkennen, denn eine Kompatibilitätsliste gab es zumindest damals im Internet nicht.Jetzt läuft bei ir alles mit Windows 7, nun klappt es auch mit dem Edimax.Ein Stern Abzug, wegen der fehlenden Überprüfungsmöglichkeit zur Kompatibilität zum Drucker.

Ich war auf der Suche nach einem Printserver, der auch die Scanfunktion meines Multi-Funktionsdruckers unsterstützt. Da tut dieser Printserver super gute Arbeit. Es kann zwar gleichzeitig immer nur ein PC auf den Server zugreifen, das ist aber ok. Falls mehrere PC's Druckaufträge gleichzeitig absetzen, sind die, die das Rennen um den ersten Job verloren haben, halt in der Warteschlange und warten, bis der erste Auftrag abgearbeitet ist. Generell gilt: der PC, der den Printserver nutzen möchte, muss eine exklusive Verbindung zu dem Server aufbauen. D.h., kein anderer PC kann während dieser Zeit den Server nutzen. Da ist die Funktion des automatischen Trennens nach einem Druckauftrag sehr nützlich. Beim Drucken kann der PC die Verbindung zum Server selbständig aufbauen. Möchte man Scannen, muss die Verbindung manuell über die Clientsoftware auf dem PC hergestellt werden. Dabei kann auch eingestellt werden, ob und wenn ja, nach welcher Zeit der "Untätigkeit" die Verbindung wieder getrennt werden soll.

I chose this product on the basis of the description provided on the Amazon and Edimax websites. I needed something that would work 'out of the box' on my Mac-based network with my multi-function HP printer (printer, scanner, fax) providing me with full bi-directional communications with all of the printer functions and capabilities.When the package arrived I found that:1. The installation disc provided does not work in a Mac.2. The installation process described on the disc does not cover installation to a Mac.3. There are no drivers on the disc for a Mac.After a lengthy interaction with Edimax technical support (WHO WERE VERY HELPFUL AND RESPONSIVE) I determined that:1. One has to be running MacOS 10.3 or above, not 9.x or above as the on-line literature states;2. The required driver for the Mac must be downloaded from the Edimax support site;3. The installation process has to be obtained from the Edimax support site;4. I can only use LPR printing protocol (in contradition to the product literature statement "Users can choose any printing methods...");5. I will not be able to get status and error messages back from the printer.6. I will not be able to use the scanner capability of the printer.Edimax accepted my points and provided a route to return the product and refund my money.If you need to do any more than print from your MFP with your Mac based network, this is not the product for you.I think it is beholden on Edimax to make that VERY CLEAR in their product description.

Grundsätzlich bin ich sehr zufrieden mit dem Edimax-Produkt. Der Druckerserver funktioniert gut und auch die Software ist relativ einfach zu installieren. Habe keine Probleme gehabt, die Software erst nach den Druckertreibern zu installieren (ich habe vorher in Foren gelesen, dass es manchmal Probleme damit gab).Leider wird mein Canon MP500 nicht auf der Kompatibilitätsliste von Edimax aufgeführt. Deshalb hab ich auch nicht erwartet, dass Funktionen wie Scannen einwandfrei funktionieren (mein MFP wird einfach nicht als Scanner erkannt - man kann aber ohne Probleme kurz den Drucker wieder über USB mit dem Rechner verbinden).Mein Rat deshalb: Unbedingt die Kompatibilitätsliste auf der Edimax-Seite anschauen.
