Cast On, Bind Off: 54 Step-by-Step Methods; Find the perfect start and finish for every knitting project

This is a handy reference book. It has a range of ideas, and clear pictures.

For me this is a great book to get myself back into knitting againRelearning things that I had forgotten

1 - Clearly organised and nicely laid out (e.g. all the pages with stretchy cast ons are grouped together and printed on one color, all the basic cast ons are another).2 - Spiral bound! So it lays flat by itself while you’re following the instructions.3 - Compact size easy to pop in your project bag and take with you.4 - Clear photos next to the written instructions.Overall very happy with this book and think it will get a lot of use.My one slight niggle is that the spiral binding is fatter than the pages, so the front and back covers were already creased. But I know I’m fussier than a lot of people about the condition of my books!

Erstmal ist die Broschürenbindung der Grund, warum ich die englische Version gekauft habe. Sie lässt sich viel besser aufgeklappt hinlegen. Die Beschreibungen sind sehr detailliert und ausreichend bebildert. Es ist super zum Stöbern und Ideen holen. Ich habe schon einiges nachgearbeitet.

Bought this as a gift, The book has a ring-spine and thick pages/coverr, it had much fewer pages than I would have expected for its size.I don't know if what's inside on the actual pages is good or not, it was bought as a requested gift, I don't know anything about knitting myself.

Excelente libro, lo he usado varias veces, las explicaciones son claras y faciles de seguir, los tips para saber en que situacion usar los cast on o bind off es buenisima, lo recomiendo.

Ich habe ehrlich gesagt noch nichts darin ausprobiert, aber es macht mich allein schon glücklich darin zu blättern. Alles ist toll beschrieben und bebildert, sodass es auch auf Englisch gut verständlich ist (mittlerweile gibt es das Buch ja aber auch auf Deutsch für diejenigen, die Probleme mit dem Englischen haben).Optisch finde ich die Ringbindung nicht besonders ansprechend, allerdings ist sie beim Gebrauch eindeutig praktischer als normal gebundene Bücher.Ein hübsches kleines Nachschlagewerk für alle Strickinfizierten!

Niemals hätte ich gedacht, dass es so viele Möglichkeiten gibt Maschen anzuschlagen bzw. abzuketten. In diesem Büchlein werden die einzelnen Möglichkeiten gut erklärt und sogar noch angeführt, für welches Strickgut sich welcher Cast on / Bind off eignet. Idealerweise hat das Büchlein auch noch eine Spiralbindung, so bleibt jede Seite ohne weitere Hilfsmittel aufgeschlagen. Da gibt es nix zu meckern - volle 5 Sterne !!

Ich bin begeistert von diesem Buch. Es ist eigentlich ganz egal, dass es in englischer Sprache verfasst ist. Man "merkt" es nicht wirklich, da die Anleitungen klar und bebildert sind. Also, keine Angst. Es werden viele Anschlags- und Abkettmöglichkeiten beschrieben, so dass für jedes neu geplante Projekt und die verschiedenen Wollstärken etwas dabei ist.Sehr schön, auch die Spiralbindung hat was.

Dieses Büchlein ist einfach klasse! Es werden sehr viele Arten ein Strickzeug zu beginnen oder zu beenden beschrieben. Die Anleitungen sind kurz und deutlich und zudem auch noch wirklich Schritt-für-Schritt mit Bildern erklärt. Auch mit geringen Englischkenntnissen sollte man keine Probleme beim Verstehen und Nacharbeiten haben. Bei jeder Anschlag/Abkettform wird vermeldet, ob das Resultat zum Beispiel eher elastisch oder feste wird und wofür man welche Art am besten einsetzt, Socken, Ärmelbündchen etc.p.p.Die Ringbindung ist ausserordentlich praktisch, das Papier sehr dick. Es macht also einen überaus stabilen Eindruck.Zudem besticht das Buch, im Gegensatz zum, etwas ausführlicherem, "Cast On, Bind Off: 211 Ways to Begin and End Your Knitting", durch sein handliches Format und dem günstigeren Preis.Fazit: Absolut empfehlenswert!

Ein interessantes Buch über ein sehr spezielles Thema der Strickkunst. Mit den hier vorgestellten 54 Techniken dürften die meisten Problemstellungen zu Anschlag und Abketten zu handeln sein. Besonders positiv finde ich die Aufmachung: An Übersichtlichkeit und Klarheit ist es kaum zu überbieten, die detaillierte fotografische Abbildung sowohl der Arbeitsschritte als auch der Ergebnisse aus verschiedenen Blickwinkeln hilft auch weniger versierten Strickerinnen bei der Umsetzung. Außerdem ist das niedliche Pocket-Format ideal für die Strickprojekt-Tasche, und die Hinweise, welche Technik zu welchem Projekt passt, macht dies zu einem "Vademecum" für Strickerinnen jeden Levels. Eine klare Empfehlung - wer allerdings noch mehr Techniken sucht, der sollte zu Cap Seases "Cast on, Bind Off" greifen. Das ist etwas weniger handlich, hat auch nur Zeichnungen statt Fotos, ist dafür in seiner enzyklopädischen Ausführlichkeit (mit 211 Methoden) unübertrefflich!

Most of us learned a particular type of cast on or bind off from the person who taught us how to knit and we tend to stick with that. The photographs, drawings and diagrams are excellent and show in detail how to do each type of cast on and bind off.As a relatively experienced knitter I thought I knew quite a bit about casting on and binding off. This book opened me up to a whole new world of binding off and casting of. It's a wonderful reference book and one I don't know how I did without until now. I highly recommend it and plan to try many of these techniques right away. It is an essential addition to my knitting library.

Das hab ich mir gewünscht! Erstes Plus: die Ringbindung! Endlich mal keine Wäscheklammern an die Arbeitsbücher heften, damit es nicht zuklappt. Da glaubte ich immer, dass Anschlag Anschlag ist und Abketten geht nur auf eine Art. Pech gehabt, Lu, es geht auf viele Arten und sogar ganz leicht. Mein Strickenglisch wird auch nicht überstrapaziert, da nicht zu viel erklärt wird. Alles erscheint übersichtlich angeordnet und mit klaren, durch Bilder unterstützten Werkfotos deutlich und nachvollziehbar erklärt. Bravo!
