I had to find a new fly mask for my horse as she kept rubbing off the lycra stretchy masks about every day. After reading many good reviews I decided to give this one a go. I was a little worried about the sizing because there seems to be mixed reviews of runs big and true to size so I sized down to be safe. I went with the small horse/ Arabian size and it fits great for my senior OTTB on the smaller size. The Velcro strap isn’t super long so sizing down might not work for every horse. Hopefully this masks holds up for all the rubbing she likes to do. Plus side is it’s a bright color so easier to find in a large pasture with some tall grass.

First I need to say, this mare HATES humans! She gets annoyed if you look at her and she barely tolerates being pet. Grooming can not be over fast enough. She’s a pasture ornament than came with our draft. They’re inseparable. This is her first time ever wearing a fly mask and I was certain she would go crazy trying to get it off.Nope! Proved me wrong!I wash her eyes in the morning and she will actually hold her head at the perfect height and close her eyes when I put it on. It must be comfortable and clearly it helps if she likes to wear it.I really should get a picture of her with it on. She looks so classy! The pink is vibrant and makes her easy to spot in the field. I haven’t washed it but I’ve hosed it off a few times and seems very well made.At one point it smelled a little funky after it rained so I removed it and let it dry inside out in the sun. Sun is a great disinfectant.She’s an oversized standardbred from a Mennonite community. The warm blood fits her but there are some holes where the no-see-ums can get inside. I use a small amount of swat around her eye and the edge of her ears just to keep her comfortable.We are in Alabama and the flies are BAD! We have regular horse flies, deer flies, bombers, and the little gnats that swarm anywhere with moisture like eyes and cuts.

Keeps all pests off my horse's eyes, even tiny gnats. Never rubs my horse's fur off like cheap masks and it actually stays on.The velcro is very high quality and sticks well!The last one of these I had lasted almost 10 years, so I can tell you that these are worth paying for, unlike cheap fly masks that my horse would pull off and shred within months.My mare is a 900lb morgan and the arabian size fits perfectly!The best thing about this hot pink is if my horse's mask falls off it's easy to see/find! (The previous design (which I owned for 10 yrs as previously stated) was a light blush pink and it definitely blended in more and was harder to find in the field)

This is the only brand of fly mask that I ever use. Fits perfect and stands up well!
