I use filter floss in my canister filter, and noticed that it's not quite keeping stuff out of the water column.Got this stuff as fed up with it now.Came vac packed and I soaked it in hot water for 5 minutes and it expanded, cut it to size and added to my filter. Within 5 hours my tank was perfectly clear. Very happy with this and will purchase some more to keep in. Easy to follow instructions for preparation. Functions really well value for money for that it does. Thick enough when it expands.

This item worked almost too well. Which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how much flow you need. First I started off with two, normally I would use two these type of things to catch any extra stuff that I don't want filter. About a week later, it started to clog so I took one out and just used one of these and again it started to clog. because of this this item will not work for me. However, with that being said, if you need a filter which is extremely good, than this will be perfect for you!!Pros -1) this filter has multiple layers and does not allow very much junk to get through.Cons -1) the filtration might work too well and might not enough water to flow through. This could be extremely problematic. especially if you have a closed system. My filter is a open system, therefore it has room to overflow.

Well I followed the directions...using in a 30 gallon aquarium....They absolutely dont work ..with in 3 days the water is overflowing...not filtering thru....the filter is nit even dirty...when I tried to rinse the filter out as stated you could do not dirt came out squeezed it out put it back in blue side up as stated and within about 2 hours water overflowing again....so put a new one in and sane....about 3 days same situation....so iam giving up. Very unfortunate
