I put this on a hatch which goes into a mezzanine floor in a cabin. It's a good, chunky handle. A proper man-sized handle that doesn't muck about. If you asked a small child to draw a handle, this is what they should draw. If you look in my (soon to be released) pictorial dictionary under 'handle', there'll be a picture of this. It's great value for money, no sharp bits and no fancy gidgets or doodads.

But I didn’t buy it as a handle but as an aid when accessing my loft space. adobe for my purpose but needed sturdier screws

Not as great as solid steel but it shouldn't come off on sliding doors.Great for the price.
